Is it just me, or does it seem like 2011 is taking off like a rocket? My goodness, it’s February already. So much to do, and only so many hours in the day. We’re all so busy!
We’ve been very busy at SBX these past few months – completing some great new park facilities at Sweetwater Summit Park, installing credit card machines for our non-FasTrak® customers and keeping SBX "clean and green." And we're just getting started! In the coming months, we plan to update our website and provide you with new ways to communicate with us.
As for managing our busy schedules, Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying, “Lost time is never found again.” Looking back, I’ve "lost" a lot of time doing things that in the scheme of things weren’t all that important. When I told my children that I’d "find the time" to do something with them, they would remind me that I never seemed to "find" the time. They would then say, "Dad, why don’t you make the time?" For 2011, I’ve decided to make the time for things important to me, like spending time with my family and playing with my dog Pono.
What about you and your time? Will you make time to do what’s important to you this year? As you go about your busy schedule, I encourage you to make us part of your time-management program. You’ll get where you’re going faster and with less stress – leaving you with more time to enjoy your life.
E-mail me at ceo@sbexpress.com, and tell me how you’ll use the time you save using SBX this year. All e-mails received by March 3rd will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card to The Cheesecake Factory. The winner will be notified by e-mail, so please remember to e-mail me from the e-mail address on your SBX FasTrak account.
Thanks for using SBX, and I’ll see you on the road!

Over the next few months, we’ll be updating the South Bay Expressway website. Our goal is to include all the information you need to manage your account and to make the website useful and easy to use for you. To help us get it right, we are asking for your feedback. Please click here, and tell us what changes you would like us to make. After all, it’s your website – you should have a say on how it works! As an added bonus, the first 100 customers who provide us feedback will be entered into a drawing to receive $50 in free toll credits on their South Bay Expressway FasTrak account.

Sweetwater Summit Park Improvements Completed
|
|
As part of our commitment to our community, we recently completed major improvements to Sweetwater Summit Park in Bonita. This is part of our $34-million community and environmental investment that includes a state-of-the art Little League ball field complex, equestrian bridges, hiking trails, and protection and preservation of sensitive environmental areas and resources. Stop by for a “play day,” and you’ll see new playground equipment, exercise courses, picnic shelters, RV campsites and a fantastic new water playground. We’ve also built a beautiful new 3,000-sq.-ft. community building that you can rent for parties, meetings and other activities. The new picnic and playground areas are open every day of the week, and you can reserve picnic shelters or the new community building by calling the County Parks and Recreation Department at (877) 565-3600. With Spring coming soon, what better time to enjoy these great new facilities? And if you think about it, drop us an e-mail and let us know how you like them.

There’s a new way to pay tolls on South Bay Expressway! That’s right, now you can use your Visa®, MasterCard®, Discover® or American Express® credit card at any of our ramps or the mainline toll plaza in Otay Mesa. No more fumbling for coins or worrying if your dollar bills are crisp enough for the bill acceptors. And that "exact change" thing? – No more! Simply insert and remove your credit card into our credit card machine (just like you do at the gas station), and then, when you see the green light, you’re on your way. Your toll will appear on your credit card statement, so you’ll have a record of all your trips. Credit card tolls are the same as cash tolls.
Of course, you know that you save even more time and money with your FasTrak, where you zip right through without stopping and pay 40¢ to $2.15 less per trip, depending on where you travel on South Bay Expressway.
And don't forget that if you get your friends to open a FasTrak account, not only are you a really good friend, but you also receive $25 in free toll credits. For more information, visit www.sbxthe125.com.

At the beginning of each year, we send each of our FasTrak customers a link to our FasTrak terms and conditions, as a way of reminding about our responsibilities to you as our customer and what is required of FasTrak account holders. Although we have not made any changes to our terms and conditions in the past year, we thought it would be a good time to remind you to familiarize yourself with them. You can view them at https://csc.southbayexpressway.com/Content/TNC.htm.
If you ever have any questions about your FasTrak account, feel free to e-mail us anytime at customerservice@sbexpress.com or call (619) 661-7070.
